New Patient Visit
At your child’s first appointment we will introduce you both to the office and the staff. We will examine the teeth and surrounding tissues as well as take any necessary x-rays. Your child’s teeth will be cleaned and treated with topical fluoride. Your child will receive instruction on proper home care and diet. Then, we will discuss with you all of our findings and review a treatment plan for your child.
If this is your child’s first dental visit, you may wish to give a brief and simple explanation such as, “Tomorrow you will be meeting Dr. Autumn. She is a dentist and she will count your teeth and clean them with an electric toothbrush.” It is important that your child does not sense any anxiety you may be feeling about the visit.
We know that all children are not alike; therefore we tailor our services to your child as an individual. Because of this, appointments may vary in frequency, length of time, and time of day. At your new patient visit we will discuss a treatment plan created specifically for your child and schedule appointments as needed for treatment. Each appointment scheduled is time reserved specially for your child. If you are unable to keep an appointment, kindly provide us with at least 24 hours notice so that this time may be offered to another patient.
Payment and Insurance
As a courtesy to you, we will gladly electronically file your dental insurance. Please be aware that your insurance policy is an agreement between you and your insurance company and that the restrictions of your policy are determined by your carrier and not by our fees or recommended treatment. Insurance plans rarely cover 100% of treatment; many require co-pays and deductibles. With this in mind, we will provide you with an estimate of your portion of payment, which is requested at the time of service. Your portion may be paid with cash, check or credit/debit card. We also offer interst free payment plans through Care Credit.
